The history of King's College London Rifle Club is a rich tapestry of tradition, skill, and camaraderie that dates back many years. Established as a platform for enthusiasts of target sports, the club has stood the test of time as a distinguished institution within the university community.

The roots of the club can be traced back to its founding members as far back as the mid 1800s who were originally part of multiple rifle clubs within the King's community - mostly Guy's Rifle club, which amalgamated to make the club we know today. Over the years, the club has evolved and grown, attracting members from various backgrounds and skill levels, being active for over 120 years! Our historical records show that the first time the Club applied for affiliation with King's College Students' Union was 1899! And so, this has been adopted as our official establishment date, although our activities as a group go back further than this.

We have been shooting smallbore disciplines at our range at the Strand since the mid 1920s, where we moved in after the 1st world war. We have had pretty constant use and shooting training at this range for almost 100 years now, only giving way for a short time to the military in world war 2 in order for them to use the space to train their soldiers, and it was handed back to us after. In 2025 it will be our Range Centenary Celebrations - 100 years of King's College London Rifle Club shooting at our range here at Strand!

As the club continues to thrive and expand its reach, its online presence plays a crucial role in attracting new members and engaging with the broader shooting community. By providing a comprehensive website that features all the information one needs to know about the club, including its history, membership details, and upcoming events, the King's College London Rifle Club is setting the standard for excellence in the world of target sports.

In conclusion, the King's College London Rifle Club stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of shooting sports and the power of community. Its rich history, commitment to safety, and welcoming atmosphere make it a standout institution within the university landscape. Whether you are a seasoned shooter or a curious novice, there is a place for you at the club, where you can be a part of something truly special.
