Fullbore Training
King's College London Rifle Club undertakes trips to the National Shooting Centre, Bisley Camp in Surrey to undertake Fullbore Target Rifle training.
In partnership with the British Young Shooters' Association and the RAF Small Arms Association, we have the opportunity to stay on Camp and shoot .308/7.62mm bolt action target rifles at distances between 300-1000yds.
Fullbore Trips to Bisley
Bisley is a special place within the field of target shooting - it is the largest range complex in the United Kingdom, and the most well equipped range in the world for target sports. Here at King's College we are incredibly lucky to be only a short 40 minute train ride from Bisley from Waterloo Station. There is the opportunity to try multiple different disciplines (such as Historic Service Rifle, Civillian Service Rifle, Gallery Rifle, etc) while undertaking join trips in partnership with the British Young Shooters' Association on the different ranges: Century, Stickledown, Melville, at Bisley.
King's College London Rifle Club as an individual organisation primarily supports and trains the discipline target rifle, which is shot with bolt-action .308/7.62mm calibre rifles while prone, supported by a jacket and sling, at distances between 300 yds - 1000 yds with iron sights only (meaning, there is generally no magnification or scope to help you see the target and aim). This takes skill, and safety is of the utmost importance, so it is imperative that you are able to competently shoot in a jacket and sling at our home smallbore range on the Strand prior to coming to Bisley to shoot Fullbore target rifle with us.
If you are a Fullbore member of King's College London Rifle Club please ensure that you let the committee and Range Officers know when you arrive for your smallbore training at the Strand Range that you wish to work to progress quickly to shooting in a jacket and a sling so that you can participate in our Fullbore trips to Bisley.
